2000 Tracker

My 2000 Tracker 2.0 liter has 55,000 miles and the check engine
light came today. Anyone know why it would come on? Do these
these engines have the 100,000 mile interval?

Thanks.

Re: 2000 Tracker

try turning your key on/off 5 times and see if that clears it, if it does, it's just an oil change light. (change your oil)

Re: 2000 Tracker

When my light came on it was just the sensor $300 to fix it. It is the only major expense I've had in over 80k so I'm not complaining.

Re: 2000 Tracker

Trackers don't have an oil change light.... Check your gas cap, I've had that happen before.... It also came on when my wires broke between the motor and the evap. canister... if the gas cap is tight and it doesn't go off in a day or so take it to Autozone or Advance and have them check the codes.. it's free.

Re: 2000 Tracker

I have a 99 chevy tracker 2.0 liter 2 door 2wheel drive i was racing down the highway and it came on i did a small tuneup change oil , oil filter , fuel filter , it ended up being a dirty air filter but K&N has a nice lifetime warrenty for like $35 and gives like 5 more hp and my tracker has 90,000 miles on it well close

Re: 2000 Tracker

I bought a 99 Tracker 6yrs ago and the eng lite came on after about 3mos( Over 100000 miles) I disconected the Bat and the lt stayed off for a short period of time,. I cked oil and other levels and they were Ok.Tired of doing this,i ckd around and read a report ??? found out its just a noaccout sensor of some sort, and it wasn't important. I 've beeen driving this way for over 6 yrs and none the worst. The lite coming on it's not important howevr if the lite starts to flicker, pull over and have your mechanic Ck the car. Hope this helps tonio424
