455 horsepower is great but hybrids are expensive enough as it is; toyota would be wasting a shitload of money if they made it a hybrid, so they'd prlly charge a fortune...mind you, anythings better than nothing. they gotta give us something....

i read that the supra is coming back in 2008. i also found some credible info, it's on this page: http://www.modernracer.com/spyshots/spyshots3.html. i like everything about it except for the front end... they could definitely do a better job designing that grille and headlights. i'm new to this forum, btw.

Re: The new Toyota Supra
Does anyone have any physical proof of a new Supra other then concept drawings or body-kitted mkiv's?

Re: The new Toyota Supra
toyota never brings back old names, the celica and mr2 are going to be gone for the US after this year, something will replace it (they have the voltra and TXS concepts both coming around) but they never revive cars

I might add that the Mk4 wasnt announced until 3 monthes before it came out. RX-7 is technically a 'sports car'. 2 seater lightweight all around fun. Supra is a GT car, touring, heavy, 4 seats (although laughable) and dominated the GT series when the SkyLine didnt. |

i saw in an Aussie mag pics of a front engined GT car being tested at the Nurburgring, it had a long bonnet, and was black (most of it was taped up). the article said that there was a debate as to the engine position, some say MID as it had vents in the boot (trunk to the non-aussies) but others say FRONT engined as it's bonnet was long. BTW it apparently is using a detuned V-10 F1 engine.

Re: The new Toyota Supra
I just got a Car and Driver that had a car being called the Supra in it. Whether it was a Supra or not they wouldnt say. It looked pretty nice, a lot of European design elements in it. But I still love the MK III's.

Re: The new Toyota Supra
There is a supercar Toyota is comming out with. It might be a V10, TT V6, or hybrid (oh dear god, no). Its most likly gonna have paddle shifts. Anyways, they dont know if it will be called the Supra, or when it comming out, but what they do know is that Toyota is pretty serious. These shots are of it being tested at Nurbergring.
The wing isnt gonna make it to production, and they are planning to change the rear lights. They might also do a better looking front bumper. I got all this info from MotorTrend mag, and channel4.com.

Re: The new Toyota Supra
I have heard from a Toyota dealership that in 2006 some form of a Supra is coming back, and I read in Sportcompactcar about a Supra super car. It is coming back just not as what everybody loved. The MKIV cannot be replaced and all u guys bitchin about how Toyota is not loyal is naive. Technology advances very quickly so yes cars will die and news are born, besides if they brought back the Supra with same skin same guts what would define the MKIV as being legendary and seperate it from the new supra. you can not re-create the uniqueness of a car like that. I am happy that Toyota is even trying to get back in the game, so stop trashin Toyota! and hearing all these different specs you guys should check your sources
I agree with EVOcrazy, sounds about right and thanks for info |
