555 SWRT Subaru Impreza WRC

Hello again guys,

This one was just completed last weekend. A Subaru Impreza WRC from tamiya.
The 555 decals are from colorado decals which I bought online and the other additions are the seat belts.

I spraypainted the body with Tamiya Mica Blue and clearcoated it with Gloss Clear from Mr. Hobby.

Nice model, but wrong sponsoring for a 1999 Impreza.
The sponsorhip of 555 for the SWRT ended at the end of the 1998 season. Since then (beginning of 1999) the Subaru Team ran their cars without a main sponsor like 555 was before. The Imprezas were simply marked with Subaru's own logo, so Tamiya did it right with their kit and the decals for the car.
Sorry to say, but you better should have used the the decals of the kit for a 1999 (Tour de Corse) Impreza.

I agree with Stefan but to be precise, Subaru endorsed the 555 livery on a very few occasions later. If I remember well, Greece and Argentina in 2003 among others (or not).

Did you mean 1998 Monte Carlo Impreza ? Because this one is 1999 Tour De Corse Impreza.

Yes mate, I had a feeling that I got the livery inaccurate, but I just like that 555 livery so much and at the time when I bought the kit, the 98 monte carlo impreza was way too pricy.

I also love painting cigarette rally cars but that to me is unacceptable. In season 99 only Subaru Rally China going from 555.
Did you use decals to version A group,

WRC version was different painting

The 1999 season was only the said rally China, then there was a break until 2002 where she was known as version 4 doors
