Re: putting non alfa engine in alfa romeo spider
I often wondered about putting a mustang 5.0 in my 1991 spider, or buying another one for the project. I think it could be done and done well, but the effort would mostly be in chassis stiffining, and suspension. My 1991 spider has those springs from International Auto Parts, and shocks and speedline wheels with good tires. I also put in that Chassis stiffiner sub-frame thing. It did tighten up the car a bit.
I think a V8 would be a gas, but the $$$ must be spent to make it a custom, strong framed car first. |

Re: putting non alfa engine in alfa romeo spider
On behalf of all alfa lovers please don't do it. plus a mustang 5.0, screw that crap. My 78 spider has blown many of them off the road. You just need to tune your alfa a little and you'll get plenty of power. Headers pipes are a must if you don't have them already, HUGE difference with them.
