BMW vs Ford

Which car would win in a race? An 03' 540i or a 05' Mustang GT?

Thanks

Re: BMW vs Ford

Both bone stock and fresh?
Drag race: probably the Mustang, but not by much (13.9 versus 14.1 second 1/4 mile times)
Road course: probably the 540 (assuming equally skilled drivers).
But the 540 is the better car overall.
Just my opinion, having had seat time in both.

Re: BMW vs Ford

Don't know about racing, but I rented a Mustang GT on a business trip just last week.

Zippy, yes, but it really bounces around on a freeway that has "normal" bumps. It did so to a disturbing degree. Maybe just that particular car, though?

But then I (probably unfairly) compare it to my little old 2000 Z3 :-)

Re: BMW vs Ford

well it depends on the people who are driving the cars, but i would say 90% the bmw would win.
