Talking buying first car

im seeking info to help me when to come to buying my first car (not new to the roads as iv been riding motorcycle for over 8 years)!
iv been told to stay away from french cars and stick with jap/German cars.
and to never go for any with high millage 1000k etc
so now im here to ask for your help. im in a state of confusion lol.

if anyone can give me the answer(to the below) i need that will help out then i will be a very happy man

  1. what type of millage should i stay away from?
  2. what cars are best for a new car driver (cheap on all costs)
  3. what brand of car should i go for and whats to stay clear of.
  4. what to look out for when buying a car
  5. useful info when it come to cars.
  6. what price range is best fro a first car.(£1000 max is mine)

Good luck finding a decent German Car for £1000! You'd be lucky to find a VW for that...

iv found a few thank you! in fact i found a golf 1.4 2004 55,000 and a decent condition inside out. every think works spot on. so yes looks like i can found one.
