7 Pin Plug, No Power to Right Turn Signal
Hello Everyone
I am new around here and could really use some help. I have a 2000 4Runner. I have been using it to pull a popup camper for a few years now. All lights and power have been working to the trailer. This week...all of a sudden the right turn/brake light isn't working. I tested with a multi-meter and there is no power to the pin on the 7 pin adapter for right turn signal. I also hooked up a neighbors truck...and everything on the trailer works fine. Any ideas? I couldn't find anything in the fuse diagram that would have suggested a fuse...especially for only a single pin. BTW...ALL of the lights on the truck are also working great. It is simply the single pin in the 7 pin adapter that isn't getting power. Any and all ideas greatly appreciated!!! Really just don't have the coin to take it to a mechanic and have them track down the issue. Have to fix this myself. Thanks in advance for reading and any thoughts. Cheers Fish_ON |

Is it factory trailer lights or aftermarket? If aftermarket check your connections where it hooks in.

Re: 7 Pin Plug, No Power to Right Turn Signal
It was a factoryflat 4 pin. I had a 7 round and 4 flat multi put in professionally 3 years ago and has worked perfectly. I also checked yh install site and all is tight from what I van touch and see.

Re: 7 Pin Plug, No Power to Right Turn Signal
sometimes the diodes in the adapter burn out, if you can test the wires going in to see if you have voltage there and if you do and nothing coming out then your box is bad. should be able to strip a little of insulation back or pierce though with sharp probe to check for voltage

Thank you for the suggestion. Sadly, there is no power behind the box for the green wire, which is the right turn/brake for the trailer/rv. Any other thoughts greatly appreciated! I am stumped. Is there a fuse that isn't obvious? Could there be? For only one side? Thanks guys and girls! |

Thank you for trying to give some input. Sadly thus far, nothing you have added has much value. Please allow others that have experience with this issue or actually have ideas comment on this thread going forward. Thanks again!

Re: 7 Pin Plug, No Power to Right Turn Signal
how are wires attached to main harness, butt splices, insulation stripped back and soldered or those square looking connectors that are supposed to pierce the wire insulation?

If you have no power to a plug trace it back till you find a bad connection. that seems logical. Anyway I'm done on your thread good luck. |

I disconnected the 4 Flat to 4 Flat and there is no power there either. I didn't check the connection into the original 4 Flat plug...is that what you are thinking? Thanks for your time and help! |

Re: 7 Pin Plug, No Power to Right Turn Signal
will need to trace the wires on the 4 flat back into truck harness and find where they connect or run a new wire from bulb wiring into the dead wire on the flat 4 plug
