If it acts like it's dead, it may very well be. Have you checked the battery voltage and are the cables tight? Have you started the car since the battery was installed?

Along with that also check the condition of the battery cables, and make sure the connections are clean, especially any residue from the old battery. Sometimes, on older cables, the insulation may get torn or opened in a spot, especially where the cable end by the battery terminals are, and old residue from the battery gets in there causing resistance.

Re: Roadmaster starting problem

What about the starter and solenoid, have you checked the function by jumping the purple wire to battery postive (+)? Did this problem start before you installed the new battery?

Re: Roadmaster starting problem

No i have not jumped the starter i will have to try that. The problem started before i bought the battery. Do i just tap the wire with a 12 volt battery or what?

Re: Roadmaster starting problem

Hello. Just found a problem people! Pulled my starter and found out that the case around the neck where the gear engages the fly wheel is cracked almost all the way around and the gear is kind of at an angle. I think it was jammed in there preventing it from spinning. Going to change starter and see if the end result is positive.
