Sohc ZC

I found out i have a ZC engine in my car and has a broken piston ring.
I have a few questions:
what piston rings can i use since i cant find any info on this engine?
what car originally carries this engine?
is it worth putting a "mini me" swap?

Re: Sohc ZC

The ZC motors came stock in the 4th gens in japan. As cheap as the motors are just get a dohc ZC for it. What gen civic are you driving? ZC motors are only slightly better than usdm civic motors depending on what model you happen to pick up. Sohc ZC = poo. If you search for ZC motors in the 4th gen civic threads you'll find lots of info. I used to have one and asked alot of questions so i know there's a parts list around here somewhere.

Re: Sohc ZC

Do me a favor - since you seem to type faster than you think - cut your fingers off.

The SOHC ZC is great motor with i/h/e and maybe a clutch w/ light flwheel. Worth the $700 bucks to buy it and $300-$500drop it in. A lil higher compression than the d16z6 and what definately seems to be a more aggressive cam. I owned one...not a k20 or b16, but worth the project if that is what you want to do.

Re: Sohc ZC

Could be real, but depends on your wallet or mechanical skills. I've swapped in a SOHC zc into an EG hatch......and it didnt really run faster than my eg sedan with D15B7....not noticeable atleast. Oh, both 5 spd.
