Well, it's a Yamaha motorcycle engine.

I read an article about a company in England that is mating two I-4 Suzuki Hayabusa engines together to create a 2.6 Liter V-8 engine with a redline around 14,000 RPM.

Re: RSX vs. GSR

The Honda F1 is a 3L V12 with like 15000RPM redine

And the Mugen RWD V8 Legend (new RL) has a 9000RPM readline, that thing is a beast and a M5 killer and a current JGTC and LeMans engine.

Re: RSX vs. GSR

It's fast after 6,000 because thats when VVTL-I kicks in but you don't get to enjoy the acceleration much because you have to shift at around 7,800. And when you do, it drops the RPM to about 5,000 so it takes a while to get to the VVTL-I range again.

Re: RSX vs. GSR

The RSX Type S and Celica GTS are closer than you might think. It all comes down to the driver, and if they are equal, the RSX has a slight advantage. I believe they made the GTS in automatic as well as the 6 speed, so a lot of the GTS's out there would not even stand a chance against the Type S.

Lift kicks in a 6,200rpms and you don't shift until 8400rpms. If you are a good driver you can land in the 6500rpm range on the 1-2 shift and higher on every other shift.

The Type S and GT-S are as closely matched as two cars can get.. a slight gust of wind could probably change the outcome if both drivers were equal.

What times are you RSX Type S guys running stock, full interior?? Myself and a few others at newcelica.org have gotten 14.7's stock.. only one member has managed a 14.6.

I haven't gotten a chance to race a Type S yet.. hardly anyone around here buys RSX's...

Re: RSX vs. GSR

Um just to let you know, i own a 94 Gsr completely stock. And ive raced several base rsxs and i pull nasty. So i unfortunately do not believe you took it. Ive raced some with i/h/e and me being stock still pulled. Unless of course he sucks as a driver.. than anythings possible

Re: RSX vs. GSR

The celica GTS should be more paired with a GSR not a type S. Ive raced several GTS and won consistently. Not by much but ive won every race. I raced a type S with intake and he pulled me. So i believe the GTS should be put against a GSR not a type S. Type S will take it all the time.

Re: RSX vs. GSR

It actually is a drivers race, the Celica has better tires and is lighter, but the RSX has slightly more power.
