Front trans mount dilemma 2003 Escape XLT 6Cyl
2003 Escape XLT. I need to replace the front trans mount. I bought what Rock Auto said was stock....not even close. The mount I need is round with a steel cap on either end and (1) hole thru the center. No other brackets or screws needed. I don't know how they got the blasted thing thru the crossmember, none the less get the old one out. I removed all support brackets to get to it. But how do I get the new one in? Even if I saw the old one off? Thanx.

Re: Front trans mount dilemma 2003 Escape XLT 6Cyl
There is going to be than just the 1 through hole to mount it.
IE this is the rear mount. It has the through hole and then the holes to mount it. This is the front. There are going to be 3 bolts that come out of the chassis, and then the through bolt. EDIT: I apologize ahead of time if the pics are incorrect. I am on my phone and searched what I could to try to help, but regardless there is going to be more than one bolt holding it. Perhaps you did get the wrong one though. There might be a difference between the 4 and 6 cylinder trans mounts. Rockauto is bad for listing things to fit incorrect models.

Re: Front trans mount dilemma 2003 Escape XLT 6Cyl
The mount I need looks like the top picture, but without the mounting bracket. It fits thru a hole in the cross member that runs front to back. There is an angle bracket mounted to the trans with a single hole for the mount bolt. there are steel 'cups' on top and bottom of the mount that are NOT going to fit thru the hole in the crossmember. Hope my pictures came thru.

Here's what I bought. I need this minus the bracket. And a way to get it into the crossmember. I need "6A061B" from diagram...crossmember shown.
