Cruise control
Just bought a 04 freestar sport...the cruise was fine when i test drove it, now all of a sudden it's not working anymore. Turn it on and press "set" and the green "speedo" light flashes on then off, and no cruise. Any ideas before i take it to the dealer. Unfortuantly i dont have a manual for this vehicle, but I am guessing the BOO switch or pressure maybe?

Re: Cruise control
Check to see if the brake lights are working.

Re: Cruise control
ok just to recap, when the cruise isnt working i get the green light flash on the dash, just once per "set" attempt. I read on another forum that a few people had this exact same problem, and it turned out to be the cruise control disconnect switch. You know the 20$ one that FOrd has a massive recall on right now. Anyway I think I will try that to see if that works.

Re: Cruise control
Same thing happening here...just bought a 2004 Freestar and although the cruise was working when we test drove it, it no longer works...
I tried looking up disconnect switch on an autoparts website but it was listed for over $400. Where are you getting a $20 part? |

Re: Cruise control
You need the cruse brake switch located on the mastercyl. The number of the one for my 06 is 7F2Z-9F924-a and lists at $33.71
I put one in mine a few years ago with the same problem you have, and it fixed it. Mine just stopped working agean, but I get NO lights this time. I was hoping it was the switch agean, but it was not |
