Engine swap help!!!

I'm curious to know if I could put the Nissan skyline Rb26dett motor into my 1985 el Camino and would it be enough motor for the weight of the el camino. Any input would be awesome thanks and looking forward to hear everyone's thoughts

Re: Engine swap help!!!

Seriously, if you want to make that thing fast, put an LSx motor in it and boost it ... cheap power in spades. The El Camino is much heavier than a Skyline and the car is not built for that engine. Sounds like a nightmare swap, as well.

The power output of the 2.6 liter inline 6 you noted is less than the power output of a stock 5.3 liter naturally aspirated LS engine.
