engine light on
can everyone help me please, i got a ford galaxy 2.3l 2001 reg, the problem is that the einge light comes on with codes p0460 and p0454 and p0420. the car had a non ford spec cat fitted. now i got all the codes come up?? has anyone had this problem before??? asap thanks

Try replacing your downstream HO2 oxygen sensor.

i checked the downstream sensor and it was reading fine. it was on 8 and the sensor was not going up and down all the time so it was steady on 8, the sensor is working ok. anymore ideas please? cheers dave.

Do you know what the codes mean exactly? And what do you mean 8. Because normally an O2 sensor's midway is 450 mV and if fluctuates up and down. 8 mV is too rich and 800mV is too lean.

The codes are as follows
P0460 - Fuel tank level sensor P0454 - Evaporative emissions (EVAP) pressure sensor P0420 - Catalytic converter bank 1 Efficency below limit The law of averages would proberbly point to the fault being the Lambda probe. I doubt the first 2 are any concern. Its not uncommon to get Phantom faults within the fault codes. |
