1990 BMW 735i radio not working
I have a 1990 BMW 735i I just purchased. The radio has been acting up on me lately. The display screen doesn't show anything and I'm not too sure if it's a blown fuse or a burned out light. Another thing is I turn the radio on and most of the time there's no sound. I can hear a very faint sound of music in the back speakers but I can hardly hear it. The person I bought it from said it's probably a bad volume control. Does anyone have any suggestions on what could be wrong with my radio? Also the cassette player part of the radio doesn't accept cassette tapes. I try and put a tape in and it pops out instantly. The only thing that works is the 6 disc CD changer in the trunk but no use if there's no more sound What could be going on? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Re: 1990 BMW 735i radio not working
the unit is 20 years old, probably just worn out. You can try putting new speakers to the rear speaker wires. It might also be a worn volume control or bad amp IC.
