99 Ram Brake light/turn signal

Ok, please help, I am desperate. My driver side rear brake light/turn signal does not work. The top bulb in the tail light assembly works, the "bottom" one is the one not working so I replaced the bulb and it still does not work. I tried cleaning the connections which don't appear too dirty but that didn't help either. I was really hoping it was just the bulb as wiring/electrical issues intimidate me. Any suggestions are appreciated, thank you!

I FIXED IT!

I am an idiot tho, because the "top" bulb is the one that controls the blinker/brake light so once I replaced the correct bulb it worked.
