"chirping" sounds from driver's door speaker
Recently my 2003 Malibu has been "chirping." When I start the vehicle there is a chirping sound from the driver side door speaker. The sound is only in the one speaker. It starts with 4 beeps, then 3, 2, and 1. Then, it starts over. This continues for a couple of minutes and it stops. It is driving me crazy. These sounds are in a pattern. Any help?

Found the problem!
The owner has the ability to change the door locking characteristics on the 2003 Malibu. This is done by holding the down the locking lever while the engine is running. It will "chirp" one, two, three, or four times for each option! I noticed that, all of a sudden, the locks were no longer automatically unlocking the doors when the car was put into park. The problem: my locking lever was sticking in the lock position; this caused the system to cycle through all of the options, while "chirping" the entire time. Thanks for the reply. Letting a bird out would have been an easierier solution. Of course, it also would have been a lot messier!
