02 pt turbo blowing smoke

we have this pt cruiser at work. the 2.4l turbo and it blows white smoke out of the exhaust and we dont want to assume the head gasket yet. but i wanted to know if there was any info that could help if the turbo goes bad or if it really is the head gasket. i took the plugs out and they were alittle dark but they were not wet with anti-freeze.

Re: 02 pt turbo blowing smoke

Does it smoke when you first start it up? If so it is most likely valve seals. Make sure your pcv valve is not plugged, also check air filter tray for excessive oil at the botttem and clean it if dirty or full of oil. I find dish soap and hot water and a brush works. Suck out with a wet and dry shop vac. Make sure both air filter and sponge filter are clean. Best of luck. Wayne
