65 T-Bird 2 dr hard top...Limited Edition???

An older gentleman friend of mine, (who believes everything), bought a 65 T Bird, 2 dr coupe. He now needs to sell. He tells me it's a Limited Edition with it being black exterior and red, leather interior. Also says there are 8,800 made, 500 being the Limited Edition and only 100 in the red/black combo color. He says it's worth 30k! I know a thing or two about classic cars, and I cannot find ANYTHING about this particular model. I have learned, however, there are 3 styles of this year: convertible, coupe & the LANDAU SPECIAL EDITION. When I question him on this, he says he got the info from Ford Motor Company in WI where the car was manufactured. Before I go looking a fool to post it for sale for that kind of price, can anybody verify there is such a model?
