The title explains it. Actually its also seen on the likes of lambos, maseratis.. How do you guys achieve it? Thanks!

I use 'Scale Fabric', made by a small company called Tenco Proto in Belgium.

You can just use liquid cement. Get an old Size O paintbrush and slice it across so the bristles are short and have a flat surface rather than a point -- you now have a "stippling" brush. Dip it into your liquid cement (Mek-Pak or something like), and jab it vertically onto the part. Practice on some spare sprue, but with the right combination of how hard you jab, and when you pull it back, you can get a rough "crackle" finish. Too short "time on target" leaves a smooth but wobbly surface (good for leather texture); too long and you get "strings" pulling behind as you lift it off, but practice makes perfect.

I've had ok results using spray on textures like the plasti-kote touch range then simply using thinned matt red paint on top.
I find matt gives a better appearance than gloss.

Alternatively, you can spray primer onto the part from about 12-16 inches away so that you end up with particles on the part instead of a coat.
This takes practice.

The military guys sprayed Mr Surfacer 500 through an airbrush for their anti-slip surface with pretty good result.

Another thing you can try is talcum powder. Either mix it with the paint and apply it, or sprinkle it to semi-dried painted surface.
