yes the vg30det is a 3.0 liter duel overhead cam electronic fuel injected system with a single turbo attached to it. a few fairlady Zs called the 300ZR had vg30det engines..but so far i hear they are very rare to come by..most of the fairlady Zs in japan you will see will be 200ZR and 200ZR-II which held the rb20det and other rb type motors.

Yeah well longlivetheZ..the year of the vg series engines makes a big differance too. such as the 1987-1989 Z ..some of those Zs have vg30de engines...but there was also a vg30de in the non-turbo z32 which produced around 220hp..and the 87-89 N/A Z had around 165-170hp..so even tho the engine code is the same..you can only tell by the year it was built..or how it was built..to determin the accuall power that comes from it..the vg series is tricky like that..

Oh oh oh....man....you had me scrambling looking every where for engine codes! I know that the VG30DE is in the Z32 as well...I didn't notice the "Z32" the first time I read it and I thought you meant it was in a Z31.

I know about the whole Z32 VG and the Z31 VG diff too. I would think that since they COMPLETELY rebuilt the engine that they would have changed the code, but oh well. Hell....the VG's in the Z32 are completely diff....they don't even have dist. caps!

And....you're right....the 200ZR has an RB engine in it similar to the Skylines, but with a single turbo. Inline 6 cylinder dual cam. I've never heard of a 300ZR though....bring the info!

All these cool cars are the reason I want to live in Japan for a while.

(I don't know why I can only see Wingsofwar's reply in the "post reply" screen but not when normally viewing the board....)
