Jump starting myth or reality?
Is it true that you can start your car with a dead battery by putting it in neutral and pushing it while someone else tries to start the car? Obviously the theory being that pushing the car will charge the battery enough to get the car to start. I heard this myth from a friend and, I don't know anything about cars so I'm curious to know if this is true.

Re: Jump starting myth or reality?
Yes, I had to do that several times a few weeks ago cause of a battery issue. You dont need someone to push it if you are smart/lucky enough to have it parked on an incline. I have a manual so all i did was turn the key, get it rolling, put it in 1st and pop the clutch.

Sums it all up. Basically put it in second, keep the key pushed to almost on, let it roll a bit with the clutch out, when it gets some speed let the clutch in, and pray. |
