I had seen that one. So I guess if you turn it long ways it's narrow enough to fit below the mounts?

Yes, that is the reason for ditching the Nissan crossbars and making my own. For me it is a clearance issue of getting in the garage.

Any steel shop can get you end caps based on overall size and thickness of rails. They are easy, just push (or tap) them in the end, fit great and keep water out of the rails.
I added a 3/4" spacer now that lowered it to just above the roof, looks much better and is more useable now. |
