Need Help service oil light is on????

I have a 2005 Envoy and my service light for an oil change came on yesterday and I have about 1,100 miles until another oil change. Is there anything I can do to reset the change oil light?

Oil change shops dont know how to reset the oil life monitor system. Or dont do it consistantly. This should be in your manual as well:

1) Put the ignition to "Run" (engine not running)

2) Floor and release the accellerator pedal 3X within 5sec. Not too fast, not too slow, Just a steady, full range of motion with in the 5sec.

3) The change engine oil icon on the dash will *flash* to indicate the system has been reset.

Done!

I read that on another thread submitted by rodeo and it worked. thanks a lot
