installing onstar in a 99 Envoy

Can it be done??

There are aftermarket OnStar kits, I'm sorry I can't think of the manufactureres or where they may be available. Should be able to find one pretty easily on the 'net.

I was kind of hoping to use the factory stuff, and use the 3 button mirror, I already got the mirror, just not anything else.

Unfortunately there is no wiring there. You'd have to run every wire in the system, then there would be no way to integrate it into the computers that control your vehicle now.

If you had a good schematic and are an incredible electrician you may be able to get a system near to the system that comes factory, but still there would be no communication with the rest of the truck.

Well it supplies me with knowledge but it wasn't what I wanted to hear. i was hoping that it already had the wiring just need to plug in the onstar stuff. oh well i guess no onstar fot that.

I wouldn't get onstar anyway there are a bunch of stories of the FBI using them to listen in on your car.
