Brake issues??????

My 2006 kia sorento is making a horrible noise and feels like the back brakes are not catching all the way. I changed both the front and back rotors and pads but not shoes. Could they be the cause I didn't think the shoes actually stopped the car, only e brake)??????

The back pads may not be adjusted properly. The shoes maybe worn and rubbing. You need to jack up the vehicle and run slowly on jack stands and find the cause. Rotors are expensive.
When you change rear rotors the brake shoes need adjusted as the rotors will be slightly different.
