Focus Recall 18S32 - Stuck CPV

My apologies for posting this here..! For some reason I cannot post on the Focus forum. Perhaps someone here can answer, or give me some help getting the Focus forum to work.... Thanks...!

Focus Recall 18S32
Hello,

I got the Ford letter in December that said parts should be available in Q1 2019. When I called my dealer today, I was told to bring the car in for test to see if it needed the fix. But the Ford letter implied all would need the fix...! When I asked for further info about the problem I got a story I didn't understand, but certainly left me with the feeling that it may not need the fix today, but how about next week... or next year....?

I was suspicious, so called another dealer and got the story that they were doing the fix, and a totally understandable story that went like this: "If the CPV gets stuck the fuel measuring device could freeze up and the indicator needle would stay at that point, so you might never know when you were gonna run out of gas."

The Ford letter says you're OK if you keep the tank more than half full. This seems to support the stuck gas gauge story. Also the letter says Ford is "working closely with its suppliers to produce parts for the repair". This seems to imply some level of re-design is involved.

So far, I'm just running on the top half of the gas tank.

Anyone hear know any more about this recall...? Any suggestions...?

Thanks....!
