Veyron Vs Mclaren

Thought i might push my luck by starting a new thread in fact im tempted to start 2... Latest news is that the Veyron prototypes have done 0-60 in 2.8 and 248+MPH (400kph) and £700000 so prehaps weight has been cut power uped? Its due to lunch in september and circa 300 are to be built (do you think theyll sell that many?) over 5-6 years. There will be a convertable version for that 248mph bleeding scalp sensation. The power to weight ratio therefore presumabily excedes that of are beloved F1 so the king is dead long live the king? light weight or extrodenary power which would you prefeuear? Which is the greatest?

If Pheloton 25 whishis he can drop this thread else where and that i will abide by but im intrested to know what you guys think and why.

Sorry my bad i made the poll public to stop mutaple votes but that not posable is it so if a moderator whises to make it private feel free sorry.

Bugger wish id done this before....

Re: Veyron Vs Mclaren

Mclaren is now of an obsolete design and no longer has the greatness that it once showed in the early 90's. The Veyron from Bugatti features a revolutionary shape that allows even more speed and acceleration than the Mclaren F1 (It is in fact the best shape for any fast cars for speed whilst the shape of Mclaren is second best and is shared by cars such as the Saleen S7, Lamborghini Murciealago, etc.). Bugatti Veyron for me!!!

Re: Veyron Vs Mclaren

the veyron will probably get the record but the car that disappoint me was the enzo because i thought it was gonna be the next great car, i think its a beautiful car but as far as top speed i thought it was gonna be better.

Re: Veyron Vs Mclaren

did yall know that Gordon Murray was involved in a bid to buy TVR but some multimillionare made a better bid. i read it in a magazine. I think it would be really cool a TVR designed by Mr. Murray. I read it in Motor Trend

Re: Veyron Vs Mclaren

the mclaren is a pretty legendary car, especially considering how long it took it's record to be broken, but it's since been outdated and outmatched. the real talk here should be about koenigsegg and bugatti, since the koenigsegg CCR now has the record for fastest production car at 240mph

HERESY!!!

Anyway, on a slightly more serious note, I believe that the customer Veyrons will NOT exceed the speed of an F1, due to apparently SERIOUS instability problems after 200 m.p.h.

Last I heard was that they were going to change the gear ratios to limit the top speed.

Personally, I love both cars and would happily have either or preferably both in my stable.

But at the end of the day, with the heritage and no-compromise execution of the McLaren F1, I'll vote for that over the ludicriously expensive-for-a-Volkswagen Veyron.

For me, the Mclaren wins hands down. Don't get me wrong, the Veyron is fantastic and I can't wait for it to be released but I've had a thing for the Mclaren.. It was just so new, groundbreaking and original, nothing else can ever have that kind of mystery surrounding it. I like some of the other rare exotics like the CCR and Enzo but theres nothing like the F1.. It beats any other car, any day hands down.

Re: Veyron Vs Mclaren

Stylingwise both look great. But something about the Bugatti's quirky looks I perfer. Especially the grill, it reminds me of a tombstone. And I'm pretty sure it's official that the Bugatti beat the Mclarens top speed record. I saw it on the cover of either MotorTrend or Car and Driver. The speed was 250 something mph. But if someone offered me a mclaren I'd have no complaints
