1953 Roadmaster 4 dr Worth?

I'm looking at a 1953 Roadmaster 4 dr. The body and interior is good drivable, but has set since 1978, garaged mostly, 33,000 original miles, need brake and radiator work, I would say new wheel cylinders, shoes and turn the drums. Any idea what it might be worth, solid old paint good chrome. I may buy it.

Thanks, Joe

Yes, i know I'm a new guy, not insulted that no one has replied yet. Just thought I would have a little Buick interest story here, you know low mileage still has a 1978 inspection sticker on the windshield. Just asking if I pay as much as $4,000.00 for this car would it be too much. Desperately waiting in North Carolina, just kidding haha. Don't worry I'm not a punk.

Thanks for any reply

My price guide shows 1500-9500, based on condition, only you can tell in that range what is worth. I sold an 8800 mile 60 Lesabre that ran and looked 2 years old for 20k, price guides showed 13k, so condition dictates all.

Thanks for the reply, your right it's all in the condition. I guess it's not good for a car to sit 30 years like this Roadmaster. I'm not for sure how often it was cranked during that time. From what I've said does anyone know how the engine and transmission seal are affected over time?

Until it is running and driven you cannot tell, it is a large gamble.

Re: 1953 Roadmaster 4 dr Worth?

Interesting question, value depends on whether it runs, how much rust in the floors and frame, condition of paint and chrome, model of course, it could be 250.00-25k. Nadaguides.com has some basic price based on condition, but this is only a guideline. BTW, this is a very old thread, start a new one in the future, thanks.

Re: 1953 Roadmaster 4 dr Worth?

i would have to say it also depends on how much you personaly like the car. if your thinking of trying to make money off of it i would say it's risky unless you get it very cheap. they just aren't that desireable. i love old buicks but i personaly would not pay more than $1,000 for the car you described even if i intended to keep it forever. but if it's something you really love listen to your heart, you never know if you'll find another one. hope that helps.
