Fox Body Mustang GT would be the most common in real world. Or the '99 Silverado

The hatchback (at least in the US) is something of an enthusiast's car now. There were many fewer brought over here, and it was the last small 4cyl car BMW brought to this market. Several years later BMW started up with the Mini- which is cool, but not the same.

I do have the Dragon 316i/318ti kit- and in my mind, the 318i is more ordinary.

Cool, another first post! Welcome to AF!

Build it, post it! I don't think we've seen anyone else do that kit yet.

Re: What's the LEAST exotic car in your collection?

I like building normal street cars rather than exotic super cars, but maybe that's because I've only been in the hobby for a few years haha.

My most plain model would have to be a standard Aoshima Lexus GS400. I have a few of these and they're decent kits, but very plain and I see them every single day on the road here in Florida

Re: What's the LEAST exotic car in your collection?

For me its a Honda fit also, fiat 500 is not far behind.

The one thing I never understood is why companies produce kits of vehicles like this? Yeah they are common in society but really someone that has a 1:1 most of the time aren't going to build a replica of it. Diecast is what most people do.

Hmm produce a Honda fit or a Bugatti Veyron?

Re: What's the LEAST exotic car in your collection?

I have a whole bunch of Aoshima Toyota X90 Mark II/Chaser/Cresta, highly detailed kits with beautifully engraved platform style interior and photo etched emblems.

These cars when new were bought by middle aged salarymen who had aspiration of the high society, but had not quite made it there yet. They had always wanted a Crown, but they either could not afford it or they dared not to upstage their bosses so they bought the "next best thing".

I have no idea why Aoshima in their right mind would have kitted them back then, and I bet they wouldn't have dreamed that they could still make money out of these mold 20+ years later, with these cars being revered by drifters and bosozoku for their high power engine adaptability and RWD layout.

Re: What's the LEAST exotic car in your collection?

I guess Revell's VW Type 1 van. Jagermeister livery though so kind of cool...

And Revell's VW Golf GTI Mk2. Compared to all the WRC and F1 not very exciting, but I have a 1:1 so...

Volkswagen Golf V5 from Tamiya. Haven't started it, and I've been struggling for a while to come up with some way to make it a remotely interesting build.

Re: What's the LEAST exotic car in your collection?

btw tamiya golf v5 is pretty pricey around now.
I had a hell to find one time ago to make my daily drive 1.6 car (with all its scratch and dust..), and anyway tamiya made an excellent model of this....boring car

Now if only any company would make a MK6 GTI/Golf or the new VW 400R.

Re: What's the LEAST exotic car in your collection?

I have a collection that I call ' Vehicles only an Owner Could Love'. It includes a Messerschmitt KR200, BMW Isetta, Smart Car, a pair of Trabants, a 1st generation Fiat 500, Mini Coopers,Suzuki Wagon R, Citroen 2cv van, Daihatsu Midget, a pink Honda City plus a few others and still more odd ball cars to build as time permits.

I'm rather partial to my collection of odd ball vehicles but modelling friends just shake their heads when I tell them I enjoy building these oddities.
