reconnecting with my dad, figure classic muscle would help need help starting

alright so i had a falling out with my dad back when i was sixteen and havent had the greatest opportunity to reconnect so i figure id get an old car and do it that way...been in the marine corps since i was 17 and realized that i dont talk with him as much as i should and i should change that. thing is i dont know how or where to start cause im not from california and know little to nothing about cars or where to find a classic.

If you can, find out what kind of older or classic cars your dad likes. Usually most guys have particular areas of interest, such as muscle cars, european sports cars, luxury cars, pre-WWII cars, etc.

Try not to get a total wreck, which needs everything. It is much easier for a novice to maintain interest on a project by getting a car that needs only a modest amount of work, even if it costs more to buy.

Good advice given from all, but are you sure your Dad will want to do something like you propose?
I would reconnect first and then find out his interests.

Just my thoughts.
