Re: RB26DETT in Porsche 944?
yea i've got a question about the n/a block, if i were to take a 944 turbo(not the full engine, just the turbo) and put it on my 2.5l n/a wat do i have to do?
damn i'd still take the 997 turbo, i guess just the icon of it

Re: RB26DETT in Porsche 944?
Well the engine blocks are the same but everything else is different. You cant just hook up the turbo.
So in that case I would say either buy a real 944 turbo OR go for the V8 swap. Either option would be cheaper then building a NA into a turbo.

Re: RB26DETT in Porsche 944?
But just one more question do you think it is a worthwhile investment and safe car if I were to put in all that money on the car?
I am currently taking mechanical engineering and want something that is one of a kind in a way. |

Re: RB26DETT in Porsche 944?
Eh that depends on you. Is it the best bang for the buck?....No but no Porsche is. But I love my turbo and the fact that not every ricer boy has one really appeals to me.
If it were me I would try and find a Turbo that way at least it will be worth a little more. If your going to go turbo its the best route. But you do already have a NA and if your going to swap in a V8 it would be cheaper just to keep that.

Re: RB26DETT in Porsche 944?
I know this thread has been dead for a while but I stumbled across this while doing a search.
Im pretty sure an RB26 will fit in the engine bay but not positive. Im sure my 1JZGTE is bigger then the RB26 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zes7MDeIxRQ |
