S10 transmission swap

I have a 1987 S10 Blazer 4x4 with a 2.8L V6 and on the column automatic transmission that needs to be replaced. i also have a 1986 S10 Blazer 4x4 with a 4.3L V6 that doesn't run but has a good working automatic transmission. Can I swap the 1986 trans and transfer case assembly from the 1986 into the 1987 without a problem? Could use some wisdom on this matter, please.

Re: S10 transmission swap

I believe the bellhousing bolt pattern is different on the 60° V6, preventing the direct exchange.
