swapping factory 350 in 82 corvette for lq4

Hey. Just like the title said I'm wanting to swap my stock 350 with a 6.0 lq4. To be honest I.don't.know.that much about mechanics because I'm a painter but I have to start somewhere! I've decided to go with the lq4 over the lq9 because from what I understand, when looking to install a turbo the lower the compression the better? Any clarification ideas on this build will be very helpful! I'm also curious what kind of hp I can get out of a stock lq4 with the right cam and turbo. Thanks!

This would be a complicated swap due to the electronic engine controls and numerous differences between it and your stock 350. You would spend countless hours and lots of money adapting engine mounts, exhaust, intake, fuel and cooling systems.

It would be much easier to do a build-up based on your present 350. There are many crate engines from many performance retailers, ready to go that will directly swap in place of your current engine.

Thanks for the info! What types of crate engines were you thinking?
