MasterPull downfall?!
I just thought I would share my latest experience with my MasterPull winch line.
I was pulling a car out of the ditch (first one this year ) and I noticed that my rope was frozen. I couldn't unspool it by hand. I had to unspool it using the remote. As it was unspooling I could hear the 'frozen cracking ice sound'. I am always pulling people out of ditches in the winter, but my wire rope has never frozen. It's not really a big deal...I mean I was able to remove the line and help this couple out but I wasn't happy having to use the remote to accomplish this. |

Cracking isn't what you want to hear from the line either, even if it is just ice.

I never really thought about that (the line freezing).
The one advantage of underground parking. Was it just the outer layer or was each loop on the spool frozen? |
