low fuel
Hey Folks! We just picked up a 2004 Xterra and will be going camping in a few weeks(wife needs the warmer weather) and wanted to know the average of miles left once the "low Fuel" light comes on? It probably won't happen but you never know, we might find oursleves at that point.
Thanks Stewart |

In my experience the low fuel light is pretty conservative. I don't recall ever putting more than 16 gallons in the tank (which holds 19.6 gallons or something). That would leave you with at least 50 or so miles. Don't take my word for it, though. I'd hate to see you trust me and then get stuck in the woods w/ no gas.

Re: low fuel
Yeah, mine still has 3 or 4 gallons left too, but think like it's 2 gallons because 3 gallons doesn't go very far in the Xterra. Few things could suck worse than running out of gas in the middle of nowhere and risking burning out the fuel pump!
