Holy ****!!!

I had no idea people would pay so much for old kits:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=1740973007

What kits will be collectable in the future? Do you guys think it'd be a good idea to buy some kits now and sell them years down the road?

this really makes me feel the seller is nuts
US $760.00 (reserve not yet met)
and
Buy It Now for US $1,599.00

what is he thinking? it's just 4 models?
I can buy a REAL car with 1599US

Oh, and buyer pays shipping!

Yup, The max I would pay would be 500, no more.
The words "Rare" and "Collectable" = higher price?

You can buy a complete AE86 GTS with that amount, maybe even with pre-installed mods.

(hehe, I just had to say it!)

On a related note, I've seen the Mazda 787B 1/24th scale go for $70 or more on eBay...

Makes me feel lucky that I got mine when I did

Number of bids

Definately way too much for me. did you see how many people have bid? There have been 14 bids on that already! That's probably at least 10 people that have been bidding on it.

I'm cool with the 15-20 dollar kits, with not many decals to put on, no multi-colored bodies...simple things. We'll for now anyway, I'm still new at building these.

Later
Nick

Since they are R/C, each would cost $300 or so when new, and four of them is $1200, so $1500 asking price sounds fair. (that's why I don't do R/C stuff.)

I remember Tamiya's 1/20 McLaren M23 is traded at $200 or so, because it's got huge Marlboro markings, and impossible to reissue.
Also, last time I checked, Fujimi's Ferrari F355 was sold at $80, and the Challenge at $100 on Y! Japan Auction. Man, those kits aren't that good.
