Jeep patriot 2.2 crd 2011 knocking
Hello,
I just bought a jeep patriot with Mercedes engine OM651 2.2. The engine is knocking very bad while accelerating. The performance is not so bad. I don't know the service history of the car. Read Codes P032600 /KNOCK SENSOR 1 CIRCUIT - PERFORMANCE P032B00 /KNOCK SENSOR 3 CIRCUIT - PERFORMANCE P0A5B00 /GENERATOR CURRENT SENSOR CIRCUIT - LOW I believe is the timing chain a tooth wrong or chain tensioner. OM651 chain is behind engine and must take out the engine to check. Any ideas? |

Is their any covers you can pull and look at the chain. Otherwise pull engine and check.

Re: Jeep patriot 2.2 crd 2011 knocking
My knock sensors was missing from engine block (both) and the plugs was hidden behind some parts.I was looking for knock sensors for few weeks and finally i bought my cars service manual and i checked the location that was stated in the manual but nothing, Finally i found the plugs hidden around of each sensor. I will buy both knock sensors and check if this was the problem. This is strange? or there is a reason for removing those sensors?
