Harmonic Balancer Removal

Im trying to get the Harmonic Balancer off my 94 z28, I have the pully off and the bolt in the center, i have the puller on and i got it as tight as i can get it.. ive even used an impact on it.. its starting to bent the puller itself. It just wont come off, what am i doing wrong. Ive tried hitting it with a hammer and everything.

Re: Harmonic Balancer Removal

You'll have to make sure that you have the puller on there perfectly straight. That will make a lot of difference. I hope that helps.

try something like wd-40 or penetrating oil and let set for a few hours. and use a steering wheel puller instead of the standard 2 or 3 jaw puller.

Re: Harmonic Balancer Removal

are you using a harmonic balencer puller or jaq kinda like 4 on floor said? i would use a balencer puller/steering wheel puller. they are comenly designed to do both. im asuming since you said you have the puller as tight as you can get it that you have the jaw type and i would say try the other kind. just like he said above.
