Why do these cars have two IAT sensors when mustangs don't? (PICS)
While posting on corral.net searching for this apparent grommet I'm missing for the air filter mount/shield IAT sensor (I thought it might be an OEM part) I have come to realize that my motor has two IAT sensors... why?
I have the one all the mustang guys have in the lower manifold, and then the one that goges ahead of the MAF in the air filter shield. The plugs and sensors are the same. Sensor wire for the air filter mount OEM sensor in the lower manifold Same plugs

This is just from memory, but it seems like the Ford Motorsport fuel injection harnesses that were used locate the sensor near the MAF, which is the one in the aluminum tube. The engine looms that came on the cars had a provision for the sensor as well, but I don't believe it is carries on through where the 2 connectors at the back of the intake manifold connect the engine loom to the fuel injection loom. So, I don't believe the one in the intake is doing anything but plugging the hole. You'd need to do some piout testing to confirm, though.

^ Gotcha... so about that "grommet" that I'm missing, is that a custom part?
