Re: Hello to Panoz GT-RA and Series Car Owners
Be warned that the BBS RX233's that BBS sells for Mustangs would have to be bored out to fit over the hubs on these cars. Maybe the ones referenced above included that machining; the guys at BBS should be quite aware of this.

Re: Hello to Panoz GT-RA and Series Car Owners
The ones that were bought from the school would definitely have the machining done - I was talking about brand news ones from BBS.

Re: Hello to Panoz GT-RA and Series Car Owners
^ The new wheels and my "old" wheels are 100% the same. The spacer fit's perfectly w/ a sort of "click" in the counter-bore on the back of the wheels.
Who knows maybe BBS has machined them properly for that. When I called the rep confirmed that they're the wheels used on the GTRAs, but brand new.

Re: Hello to Panoz GT-RA and Series Car Owners
In the long run, 18's are the way to go for me. I've got great connections for 18" rubber, and it seems to be the std size for most racing applications (best combination of I**4 and weight). Yes you can stick huge rotors inside of 18" wheels. I'm looking at e-bay right now...

Re: Hello to Panoz GT-RA and Series Car Owners
Thanks for the input gang - I have a technical guy at Yokohama, who knows the guys at BBS working on this...one issue is that with the tire we want to use, they think they want us on 18 X 10's on all four corners - Josh says they've never run the 10" wides on the fronts but guesses its ok...but I think I'll have to pull the trigger sooner than later on the frame reinforcing...we'll have quite a bit better rubber on the road...cars will be faster....I'll keep you posted on what they say about machining, and offset - Josh says offset on the rears is 20mm and the fronts, running 18 X 8.5" was 25mm - this may take some time, but I'll keep ya'll posted on what we find...

Re: Hello to Panoz GT-RA and Series Car Owners
The GTS cars are running either BBS RGR 18x10 on all 4 corners - or 18x11 on the rears.
Pirelli p Zero 285/645/18 front 305/645/18 rear I am running 18x10 on all 4 corners. I would go with the larger rears if I were buying a new set. Some guys are running CCW 3 piece wheels instead of the BBS. |
