Panoz GTS, ‘00

One of the two fastest Panoz GTS’s in the World – my brother (Brian, "panozracing") has the sister car to this one (identical mods and setup). Many years and hours of development to build this great package.

Modified to be an extremely reliable, class winning car in Nasa ST1 and PBOC R1.
Many Wins in Nasa ST1, PBOC R1, and SCCA GT2
Extremely well maintained and ready to Race.
Capable of consistent 2:15 lap times at Sebring

Modifications from Stock Panoz GTS:
Aero – front splitter added, rear wing repositioned higher and further back into airstream, holes in rear window for in-cabin airflow

Rims/Tires – 2 sets of CCW 3-piece rims, 11” front, 12” rear. Fitted with 305/650-18 fronts and 325/710-18 rear. Many great tire options (Pirelli and Michelin are our favorites)

Included with sale are extra outer wheel halfs for front rims to reduce to SCCA legal 10” rims.

Engine – amazing 427 stroker engine built by Mike Kovak at Total Engine Concepts (TEC) in West Palm Beach, FL. Engine capable of 650 +HP with bigger carb, but I have it tuned down with a 390 Holley carb to max out HP allowed by Nasa ST1 with slick tire penalty. Engine built in 2006, refreshed in 2007, Dyno’d with 450 RWHP in 2008, raced only once in 2009, and once in 2010. With 6700 max RPM chip in MSD ignition box, this engine barely gets a workout and can run many seasons without refreshing.

Less than 30hrs on engine since refresh…easily a 100+ hr motor without loss of power.

Engine Details: Dart Sportsman Block, 4” stroker eagle crankshaft, JE piston/ring/pin set, Oliver billet connecting rod set, ATI harmonic balancer, Solid roller cam shaft, 3 stage dry sump pump, 4 Gallon Peterson Dry Sump tank, Jessel shaft rocker arm set, AFR 225cc cylinder heads, Canton dry sump oil pan

Drivetrain:
Texracing 9” rear end, 3.90 gearing
10.5”/26 spl Disc Mcleod Dual Performance Clutch with 5 strap road racing option, Fidanza 5.0 Aluminum Flywheel

Brembo Brake Upgrades at all four corners, SRF brake fluid

Cool Suit and Helmet Blower System
Nasa required right side helmet restraint
Radio antenna and Harness with PTT button on steering wheel
Steering wheel extender to bring wheel closer to driver
Lexan windshield
Kirkey aluminum seat, ready for custom molded foam insert.

Bodywork has many blemishes and aluminum backed repairs – priced accordingly

Here are pics I took yesterday. The car is ready to race, and ready to win a Nasa ST1 National Championship or any PBOC R1 race!

It looks like recent current-spec GTS's have sold for around $33k.
My car has a $12k engine, and a $1k video system, but the bodywork is not perfect. Of course, all of the body panels are readily available from Panoz.
With all that said, I am lowering my asking price for Panoz forum members to $40k. If you are interested, make an offer.

FYI - I have put my car up on Ebay, starting bid $25k. I have 16 "watchers," no bidders yet. You all know this is a great car - please let anyone know about the auction who might be interested.

Eric... I am selling b/c I just want to try something new. I would like to try some sort of sports-racer. And... I have beaten Brian enough times already to last a lifetime.

nope, it didn't sell in the auction.
I have two people interested though. One coming to look in a few weeks, one getting back to me this week.
I have dropped my asking price to $40,000 for the whole package.
Or... $37,500 without the extra set of wheels and the camera system.

I don't think there is another car out there for this price that can win ST1, or PBOC R1.
This will be a great car for the right buyer... i'll be patient.
