87.5 944 won't start.

My poor Porsche, I let her sit too long.
Found the fuel pump seized, probably due to E10 gasoline. I had lent it to my brother when he was visiting the area on his sailing vessel. Like a good guy, he filled the tank before returning it. I now have some 20 gallons of skunk gas to dispose of and I still can't get a start.

I fixed the fuel pump problem, drained the tank, changed the filter. She'll fire with a little ether (starting fluid) so I know it is a fuel delivery problem and that the ignition system is working.
By the way, I am using fresh 90oct no alcohol marine fuel in a clean remote tank. Additionally, I have tried hot wired the fuel pump to ensure that it was running and bled air from the fuel rail.

Next I cleaned and tested the fuel injectors by removing them, cleaning with quicksilver power tune (its a marine product) and even opening / operating them with a 9volt duracell radio battery and blowing them out with shop air. I could even see the spray pattern and confirm that 40psi did not leak when injector was inactivated. I have fresh fuel, pressure at the rail too, I flushed all the skunk E10 gas out of the fuel hoses and through the rail.

Again, she will fire and idle / run until the ether is used up. So I have to think about fuel injector control. What do I test for and where does it come from?
I assume the ECU. A quick google and youtube suggested that on some vehicles (other than Porsche) that constant 12vdc is present on ignition and the injector is fired by pulsing the other leg of the injector to ground. Is that how ours works?

Any other troubleshooting advice from the experts?

At least, all the cranking prior to finding/using my can of ether, gave the oil pressure time to build up. I am always happy to not get a fast start on a vehicle that has been sitting for too long.

I hope this forum is still as active as I remember it to be. I have received lots of great advice and tips from here a few years ago.

here goes it....
