87 barina wont start

hey guys, i just got a 1987 holden barina for my first car, and it was running really well, until we cleaned the carby throat with carby spray, then it was still running fine, until i stalled it yesterday, but i was done moving it so i didnt bother restarting the engine, and then later that afternoon it wouldnt start, and it hasnt started since yesterday. i was trying today that much that the battery is starting to die, and i dont have a charger or another car and jumper leads at the moment. we adjusted the timing a bit too, would this contribute, but it was still running fine after adjusting it, so im stumped
does anyone have any suggestions
its a 1.3 litre suzuki G13A carby engine if that helps

Re: 87 barina wont start

How much did you play with the ignition timing? Did you use a timing light and set it to factory specs with the vacuum hose disconnected? Just because it was still running, does not mean you might have damaged the spark plugs(soaked in fuel) from wrong ign timing.

Don't waste time trying to start the car with a near dead battery. Fit a new battery and diagnose what is wrong from there.

Pull out the spark plugs and check their condition? are they wet, oily or really dirty?

Otherwise, get a professional to check it out. Welcome to the joys of owning a car, the repair bill
