I'm not a mechanic and gave up doing any repairs years ago when I discovered the need for more tools than I could afford. Anyway, the Buick I previously described with the starting problem (after a rain) went into the shop. Appears the problem is the wiring in and around the "fuse box". I got the description over the phone and it sounded more technical than I understood, but they told me it was in what used to be called the fuse box.
If that is indeed the problem, I'll know after the next rain! Thought I'd post this for your information. Dan |

You could go to autozone and buy a starter and slap that in to see of that was the problem. Probably want to see if you are able to return it if that isn't the problem.

Wouldn't that be like installing a new engine to see if it'll start? Bumping the starter over with a couple of jumper wires will result in the same conclusion, and that's without going through the hassle of buying another starter, removing the original starter, installing a replacement starter, removing the replacement starter, and reinstalling the original starter, taking the replacement stater back for a refund.....assuming that the original starter works.
