Cool wind deflector

has anyone installed a wind deflector in their Z4? The one that slides between the roll bars and snaps in. Is it hard to do?

I just bought my Z4 yesterday and added on the "net" version which is supported by a "mask" that goes over the two roll bars. It worked like a champ on its 300 mile work-out today and 60 degree Oregon coastal weather. I bought it via the dealer for around $150 (list $185). Only downside is that it covers up the great looking roll bars....makes it look tricked but kind of slutty....dealer's choice!

Hi, I had the dealer install the factory version (I live in Ireland). The cost was about $250 equiv but its the best looking one and can be stored in the boot. As they have to drill into the roll bars I wouldnt do it yourself as if you get it wrong you're hosed. There is a self fit one available on this site, if you're interested. It looks quite good.

Re: wind deflector

I installed the screen that goes between the posts but you need to be very careful because you drill into the plastic covers to install the brackets that the screen snaps into. However, if you measure 10 times before you drill/screw it looks great.

I did not install the smaller screens that go inside the rollbars as you need to remove the plastic covers, which is a big job. (dealer didn't even want to do that.
