AWD drifters???

Does anyone in here drift AWD??? I cant seem to find any serious AWD drifters around.

It would be good to hear from some guys, and hear what they have to say about it.

Re: AWD drifters???

you've got to find someone that owns an awd car...
it's not any different than regular drifting... and you've got a little more control w/ all 4 powered wheels...

...

An AWD drift is very different from a RWD drift. For one you have to shift your weight a lot more and throw your car sideways. Once this is done you use the gas to lose some grip on all four tires and basically keep direction with that, if you change the direction of the wheel trying to counter steer it won't work like RWD. Look at pics of AWD drifts, the front and back tires are for all intesive purposes straight.

awd dirfting,bull shit!!

awd drifting is impossible due to he fact that more than half of the big awd's have 4 wheel turning,i was once in possesion of a r33 gtr, until the day i thought i could drift it,it was put in to a tree.....rip,but as good as i am at drifting the only awd that could come close, are evo 3,4,5,6's,reason why they dont have4 wheel steering, and unlike most evo's dont have viscous couplers, which werent introduced until the late evo 7's,on the othe hand.....impreza's could pull it off, but, with most four banggin boxer's,thaey dont have shit for torque, even the rally cars have trouble, and always seem to blow the torque converter, btw,i curently live in japan, and i have yet to see one aluminum spoiler on there cars,i had to ask why,my freind kayichi said its because there only purpose is down force for ROAD COURSE'S,and any car on the streets with one,is highly looked down upon, but if you have any more questions, reply

Re: AWD drifters???

the only reason why 4 cyl boxers have little low end is cuz their bore is bigger thatn stroke. Which reminds me that my friends legacy has potential to be a pretty sick drift car. But the main things getting in the way are the fact that the car is 4wd and automatc. But i like a challenge. It'll have to do until i get my car issue squared away

Re: AWD drifters???

boxers bore is only .134 less than most n/a 2.4's,the main diff,is liter capacity,in addition i wasnt downing them,i actually admire the awd porche's,but im sorry, even the hks minx impreza had a 89 hp gain after an ecu,t16,turbo timer, fms, cold air, solid axle,4.23:1 gear change, and about another $3,000 in to it,sorry to break it to you,but there dyno queens, they talk big,but just wont put out

Re: AWD drifters???

awd drifting is impossible?

again, i refer to option video (i think) 89.

jun super lemon evo 5. drifting.

you've not seen, oh, rhys millen drifting his evo at the US D1GP?

or any other awd cars?

you were once in the possession of a gtr, but you hit a tree.
sounds like you don't know how to drive, and didn't own a gtr.

and yeah, you can drift a car with 4ws.

you my friend, don't know much about what you're talking about.

porsche's are dyno queens?

solid axle in an imprezza. pictures?

sorry, but everything you've posted in this thread smells...

thanks flylwsi. You did what I could not. My brain went dead for four hours after I read his post. I had a drink and took a nap and forgot all about it.

Re: AWD drifters???

AWD drift is very POSSIBLE... even with 4WS! But it may prove challenging! Heck, you can just about drift anything if you got the skill! In my old DriftTengoku magazine they have this drift crew called F.F. Revolution that drift Civic's! This is in Japan man! They actually compete against FR cars like the Silvia! Hell! A mini-van can be drifted if you got the balls! I even still wanna attempt to DRIFT my Z car... just once... then I'm gonna go all GRIP!
