if you has more foreign races, all your going to attract is foreign money and the drivers that they want.
Foreign money is fine, but making CART more international will also appeal to US companies that market products world wide. HP, Pepsi-Co, Coca-cola, Du Pont, Nike, General Mills, and so on.

Regardless of where the money comes from, it is what drives professional racing.

F1 sucks balls in america, no interest
The US Grand Prix is still one of the largest attended races in the F-1 season and F-1 rating continue to grow. It may not match NASCAR in ratings for North America, but world wide it is one the top rated sports on TV.

CART and the IRL only get the money from high price car makers. Honda and Toyota are about as big spenders as anyone will get. GM is just a joke at the moment.
I think you under estimate how much GM spends on racing for all their brands. GM owns SAAB, Holden, Vauxhall, Isuzu, Opel, in addition to Saturn, Pontiac, Oldsmobile, Buick, Chevrolet, Cadillac. Odds are GM spends as much money as Toyota or Honda on racing. The difference is GM has their money more spread out over more kinds of racing.

Diamler Chrylser is one group that CART should tap. The Mercedes brand had a breif run in Champ Cars, but now that they have Chrysler and other brands, Champ Car could serve as a good PR tool for any of the brands they own. VW could promote many of their brands in the Champ Car series as well.

but we wil never run cart so its a pretty small point.
Speak for yourself. I am going to rule the motorsports world someday !!!

That happens to me from time to time at the AF. It really sucks when you write a long reply and then it gets lost.

im from new zealand and im backing scott dixon all the way into formula 1. That ovall track racing in the us needs a variety of circuits and probably does not excite the drivers who hardly use the brakes. Formula 1 is not the same ne more. Without a traditonal gearing system theres no challenge in racing such a great car. Who agrees with me then aye?

Re: Is CART making a comeback or just falling apart

don't let this thread die!!! haha

i think the structure of cart is proving positive for the series. in the past few weeks cart's been featured on two t.v. shows in a realistic light (not like in the movie Driven!). other good marketing choices in the off-season should yield more interest in the series for next year.

we'll find out on DEC. 17. Im my eyes, they only have one more problem and thats the guy (i cant remember his name) that owns a good bit of shares. If it goes thru, next year will be a big year for the series and its future. They have the best names and the best tracks to make it happen.
