2010-2013 equinox 2.4L court ruling

WARNING MEMBERS !!! these ecotec engines are blowing up .. GM foot dragged on these failures so in Nov 2019 the court put the GM in a hanging .. GM has to replace or repair all these engines.
GM did not test these engines properly so the oil used is causing these failures.
DIRECT FUEL INJECTION .... The oil now must be the 5-30wt SN PLUS .. if you have a direct fuel injection engine you must upgrade to this SN PLUS oil..

failures engine oil explodes / engine dies on the road /timing chain snaps/pistons lock up / crankcase venting system fails creates high pressure then the oil explodes all over the road.
ANOTHER GM SCREW UP LIKE DEXRON III WHICH CAUSED BANKRUPTCY ,, OLD GM IS DEAD..

Hope they extend ruling to 2014, rear main seal failure leading to massive oil leak and engine failure, 112800 miles. Just got a $7500 estimate for a gm reman at dealership.

sue GM because the engine will blow up the oil system .. did a lousy job on the oil system . AFM GM trucks many had to pay 7500 dollars because of the oil flow on the truck engines when the AFM is operating .. probably another lawsuit with many suing GM for Equinox 2014 and newer. GOOD LUCK . https://topclassactions.com/lawsuit-...ement-approved

GOOD LUCK . SAME OWNER WITH YOUR FAILURE I have a 2014 Chevy Equinox having the exact issues as most of the previous post. I have 97700 miles on the car last week noticed a strong oil smell followed by stabiltrack warning then engine power reduced, then low oil pressure. Rear main seal leak due to blocked PCV valve.

Even 2.4L boneyard motors are getting pricier, $2500 to $3500 for ones with over 90K miles. Have been advised to do a timing chain kit and clean out PCV port in intake if going that route. Got a quote for $5700 from a private garage for a Jasper reman engine install. Anybody done DIY engine swap? Have watched a couple of videos.
