92 Pathfinder won't start...

Does anyone know where the automatic transmission selector sensor is located? Easy to replace, check or adjust? Thanks.

That use to be the case but now; it's a total no go. Today, I removed the nuetral/park switch sensor. Quite a job. Hopefully the rplacement will do the trick. Won't know till next week. Part on order.

Gl , let me know how it turns out. When you get it , there is a trick on adjusting it, After installed .. leave it a hair loose. Then put vech in Neutral. You will see a hole on the black lever part of the switch . Get a pick or something straight .. you'll see another hole behind it.. wiggle it around till it's straight. then tighten. you should be all good then.. Good Luck

Re: 92 Pathfinder won't start...

Well...Made another inquiry to local Nissan tech. He advised that he's "never" known the park switch senor to go bad. Suggest maybe the ingnition switch, relays or fusible links.

The only thing that works when the switch is turn on is the radio-front speakers only-no amp for rear speakers.

What do you thnk? What's the best way to test things without canabilizing the vehicle?

Thanks

No Crank? Do you have the engine light, battery light , all the lights light up when you turn the Key?

If no , then Fusible link

O.K. located two fusible link running off the positive battery terminal. Others to consider? Best to replace all? Does failed fusible link suggest power surge or do they "wear out"? I have 240K miles on the vehicle.

Thanks

If you have no ignition power , meaning no crank, no lights on the dash come on, as if power is missing or not all there , then i would replace the fusible links

On the road again... It was the fusible link. It took some time but the info you provided saved me bundle, no doubt. The tow would of cost me a "C" note. Fusible link = $18. Information = $0. Knowledge + Patience = PRICELESS!!!

Thank you.

P.S. Now on to my Z-CAR.
